Are you asleep or awake?

Scriptural Context for Are you Asleep or Awake?

Scripture says, Eccl. 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. I ask you today, do you know what time it is? Or do you know what Season we are in?

2 Timmothy 3:1& 5 says, But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

And in Revelation 22:12-13 it says, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

2 Timothy 4:1-5
I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be read in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Luke 12:42-44
“who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is taht servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.

Are you awake or Asleep?

To those who are awake

Isaiah 50:4-5
“The Lord God has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak, A word in season to him wo is weary. He awakens me morning by morning, He awakens my ear to hear as the learned. The lord God has opened My ear; and I was not rebellious, nor did I turn away.

Are you awake or Asleep?

To those who are asleep

Matthew 26:40-45
Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me for one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then  He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting?

Eph 5:8-11
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Eph 5:14
Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

Mic 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?

Are you Awake or are you asleep?

Jesus is calling out to His body of believers. He says, “you have everything you need to accomplish my will for your life right now, Go and Do what I have called you to do.” Not is the time, now is the season, get up and get to work.

Awake you who sleep

Many believers today are like those disciples that love Jesus but have grown weary and fallen asleep, there is a call going out. Jesus is nudging your shoulder saying awake little one. Awake and arise, for I am here with you, I have need of you in this hour.

Eph 5:15-17
See then that you walk circumspectly not as fools, but at wise. redeeming the time, because the days are evil. therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ask yourself, What does God want me to do? If you don’t know the answer then spend some serious time with God. Get in His presence and ask Him. Don’t relent, don’t give up. Seek Him for an answer with tenacity. Scripture says, ask and keep on asking!

Arise from the dead

Luke 20:38
For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him”

John 5:25-27
Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when
the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.
26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself

Luke 15:22-24
“But the father said to his servants, a]‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

Are you saved? Are you Alive? -Then Rejoice!!
Philippians 4:4-7 says:
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your a]gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Christ will give you light

Are you awake or asleep? If you are awake, Christ will give you light.

Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Warning to those who have light

Luke 8:16-18
“No one when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.”
